History of Farmer’s Branch
Discovered and settled in the early 1840’s this little town has developed into an economically thriving community with a current population of almost 35,000.
You won’t find any farmers or ranches around this area anymore but there is an amazing historical park that sits on 27 acres and is open to the public.
Farmer’s Branch Historical Park
What’s in this historical park is a church, train depot, and Victorian-style cottages dating back to the late 1800’s. You will also find other structures from the early 1900’s and a beautiful antique rose garden.
Farmers Branch is very proud of its historical park and always has a variety of fun and interesting events centered on the heart of this city.
Historical Park Annual Events
This park welcomes 100,000 visitors each year who come out to experience things like the “Celebration of Roses”, geocaching, stargazing parties, “Murder & Mayhem” tours (Halloween season), Bluegrass festivals, chili cook-offs and the brilliantly created Christmas tour of Lights that can is visible from Interstate 35.
The Farmers Branch Base Ball Club (FBBBC)
There’s even a Farmers Branch vintage baseball club that call themselves the “Mustangs” which was initially the name of the town when it was first settled. The team plays according to rules that were created in the 1860’s.
